UPHILL
Forget crowds and big screens set up for tourists in the middle of Copacabana beach. The CAIPIRINHA APPRECIATION SOCIETY crew went up the hill to watch the second appearance of Brazil in the 2010 World Cup with their friends in the favela.
MORRO ACIMA

JABULANI WITH US

Sounds like an easy job, I bet. Well, it wasn’t! Listen and find out why. Should you not care less about the soccer summit taking place in South Africa as you read this, just relax and Jabulani* with us to the sound of the finest Brazilian music. (The name ”JABULANI” originates from the indigenous language isiZulu, one of the eleven official languages of the Republic of South Africa, which is spoken by almost 25% of the population. Literally translated, “JABULANI” means “to celebrate”).
CHIN CHIN!
Four years ago this date in a sleazy bar in Copacabana, MdC Suingue was trying to talk Kika Serra into helping him edit a show he normally presented live from a radio studio in London. As they discussed possibilities over a series of drinks, he produced a small recording device from his pocket. «Why don’t we ask these gringos right here about what they think of Brazilian music?» Give or take a few improvements, the current format of the CAIPIRINHA APPRECIATION SOCIETY show was being born. Here’s a toast to a most enjoyable partnership and the wonderful friends it has helped us make! Chin chin!
TIN TIN!
Tin-tin!
